"This is as close as you’ll come to your own private boutique hotel"The Sunday Times
The beautiful fishing village of Port Isaac is just a 10 minute drive from our luxury self-catering accommodation. Made famous through its use as the location for Doc Martin and Saving Grace (amongst other programs and films), it remains a bona fide fishing village, with fantastic fish cellars, and an array of restaurants and pubs to feed and water yourselves.
The Platt (where the fisherman land their haul) is very much a communal area, and you will find the famous Fisherman’s Friends singing here every Friday during the summer. You can pop into the Wavehunters shop just opposite The Platt to book your surf lessons, or pick up a hoody, t-shirt, body boards, and beach equipment.
The car park at the top of Port Isaac is generally the best place to park (it is a park and ride), but don’t forget to take some comfy footwear as a walk up the coastal place and round Lobber Point is a must, boasting some incredible views. Mesmear self-catering is the ideal spot to explore this area and all it has to offer, in luxury.
