Fitness Experts In Polzeath
Mesmear at Polzeath is able to offer a unique combination of fitness facilities. Not only do we have a heated outdoor pool (in the summer months), gym and studio, for our holiday barn guests to use, we also have fitness experts on site and exclusive links to Wavehunters’ Fitness.
Vicki is a Body Control Pilates Instructor Level 4. BCPA back pain specialist and equipment trained – Reformer. Also trained in mat-work and all equipment with Polestar in Sports Rehabilitation.
In the past she attained county colours in 4 sports, played hockey internationally and studied the Art and Science of Movement at Chelsea College. Now as a very definite senior she is still involved in gig rowing, cycling, running, golf and tennis.
Millie Cameron is a qualified Personal Trainer, SUP Yoga & Fitness Instructor, Sports massage therapist and top level Ski Instructor. Sport has been a constant in her life and as a result has taken her down the adventurous and never ending route of the health and fitness world.
A true advocate to outdoor fitness, Millie is a highly motivational trainer, who certainly teaches by doing as well as constantly researching for diverse ways to train outside.
As well as Mesmear’s own fitness facilities we also have strong ties with Wavehunters Fitness on Polzeath beach, just 1 mile down the road. Wavehunters Fitness has a varied timetable including beach yoga, core workouts, boxercise and circuits.
Classes start as early as 7am but don’t worry about what to do with the kids as Wavehunters will also be running early morning surf lessons as well as a drop in activities for kids of all ages.
Fitness Facilities at Mesmear
Mesmear gives you the option to when you want and how you want. Whether that’s on your own in the gym, joining a beach fitness class or organising personal training or Pilates classes.
The gym at Mesmear is available for use 24 hours a day. It has a full weights machine, free weights, wrist and ankle weights, a heavy bag and speed ball (gloves and hand wraps included), an exercise bike, a rowing machine, swiss balls and ab wheel.
There are some speakers for you to hook up your MP3 player to listen to your favourite tunes while you work out.
Pilates is a mind and body exercise programme designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, and posture, and enhance mental awareness. It is equally applicable to the granny who wants to enjoy her grandchildren, the man with the back pain and to the athlete.
We have Pilates equipment with reformer. Private and group sessions available on request with Vicki, our onsite Body Control Pilates Instructor.
Personal training with Millie is available if you want to be able to train at a time that suits. Training sessions are always fun, adventurous and even a little alternative, but always focused on what your aims are.
Millie likes to use the outdoors as her gym but if training outdoors doesn’t appeal, or the weather isn’t playing nicely, then training can take place in our studio
Millie is a qualified sports therapist, with a strong background knowledge of sport and its demand on your body, allow Millie to help treat any sporting injuries, soothe aces and painful muscles or support injury rehabilitation by using a range of physical techniques and therapies.
